As part of the Vector Institute Friday seminars, Today (June 28), I gave a talk on the research challenges of security and privacy of Machine Learning models. I enjoyed the talk and specifically the lively discussion and feedback from the bright researchers at Vector.

Anna Lindsay-Mosher was successful for a summer 2019 McMaster University Undergraduate Student Research Award. She will joining my research group this summer to work on: Using Machine Learning to Predict Outcomes for SIU-involved cases.

Our paper titled Integrity Proofs for RDF Graphs is published in the Open Journal of Web Semantics.

I accepted the invitation to join the Expert Panel - 9th annual McMaster Innovation Showcase – Nov. 7, 2018. This year’s event will focus on futuristic biomedical technologies, highlighting the role and impact of McMaster research in shaping the future of healthcare.

Our AI Project with IBM is awarded with the SOCIP Accelerator HQP Grant: Personalized Predictive Risk for Medical Imaging Radiation Exposure. PI: Dr. David Koff (HHS, McMaster), Co-Investigators: Dr. Thomas Doyle (ECE) and Dr. Reza Samavi (CAS, McMaster University).

Harpreet Geekee, CTO of Highmark Global Technologies gave my research group a talk on Research Challenges of Blockchain Platforms. Highmark Global Technologies has job positions for two recent PhD graduates to work on research and development of recommendation engine and prediction algorithm based on advanced Machine Learning methods and frameworks for Axius.

A collaboration with Hamilton EMS initiated on Optimization of EMS Calls Alternative Routing.

We filed to patent our algorithm on blockchain-based collaboration of medical researchers. The patent is based on the research my student Andrew Sutton is completed in collaboration with Dr. Thomas Doyle (ECE) and Dr. David Koff (HHS).

I accepted the invitation by the Vector Institute to give a seminar on safety and security of MLAs as part of the Machine Learning Seminar series on May 3, 2019.

We are awarded a collaborative MIRA/Labarge Catalyst Grant with Dr. M. Zargoussh (DeGroote School of Business) and Dr. A. Papaioannou (Faculty of Health Sciences) on Addressing the alternate level of care (ALC) issue facing older Candians: A co-designed comprehensive data analytics approach.

With Andrew Sutton, we attended the 16th International IEEE Conference on Privacy, Security and Trust (PST'18) in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK to present our paper: Digitized Trust in Human-in-the-Loop Health Research.
